CES has substantial Experience in performing as Contract Specialist for VDOT’s Design Build Program as well as QA/QC for the Design Builder Teams
Specifically, CES has supported VDOT’s Design Build Program on both a District level as well as on a Program level. CES has developed numerous preconstruction schedules for Design Build Projects in NOVA as well as performed review and analysis on multiple Design Build Projects including the Route 7 Corridor Improvements, Route 7 Truck Climbing Lanes, and the Route 606 Widening Projects. This knowledge and experience of development of Contract Time Determination Reports (CTDR) has facilitated problem resolution of challenges and administrative issues to allow for successful completion of numerous complex projects.
CES has supported VDOT’s Design-Build Program on a statewide level as a subconsultant to Warner on the current nonprofessional Innovative Project Delivery Contract as well as supporting a current Limited Services term contract for Design Build and P3.
CES has also provided support to the Design Build teams on several projects providing QA and QC service across the Commonwealth including development of the QA and QC management documents for the projects.

This contract consists of three projects constructed simultaneously on the Route 29 Corridor: construction of a grade separated intersection on Route 29 with major utility relocations, accelerated bridge and roadway construction; 2.9 mile long widening of Route 29; and 2.9 mile construction of Berkmar Drive (new road) and bridge paralleling Route 29.

This parking lot is built at the intersection of Route 234 By pass and I-66 on Cushing Road giving access to I-66 east bound lane and accommodates over 420 parking spaces.
This project included grading, drainage, underdrains, guardrail, asphalt pavement, signs,lighting,communication equipment, signalized intersection, pavement markings, planting/ and concrete items. The concrete comprised of items such as curb and gutter, light pole foundations,concrete pads, concrete sidewalks,bus shelter,bicycle racks and concrete end walls. (more…)
Scope of work This $138.7 million Design Build project will widen Interstate 64 from 1.05 miles west of Route 199 (Humelsine Parkway/Marquis Center Parkway) near exit 242 to where the Segment I project ends, 0.54 miles east of Route 238 (Yorktown Road) near exit 247. This will extend the three-lane section of I-64 from the point where the I-64 Segment I project ends west for approximately 7.08 miles. The proposed improvements include pavement reconstruction of existing lanes and additional 12-foot wide travel lanes and 12-foot wide shoulder lanes, and widening of nine (9) existing bridges and six (6) box culverts that lie inside the project limits. CES Consulting is assisting VDOT with the Owner IA oversight of the project, providing CE&I staff for construction management including the roles of responsible charge, construction manager, environmental compliance, and senior inspection.
